VIDEO ESSAY SERIES
One of our goals at REVERB is to contribute thoughtful, widely & easily accessible, diverse perspectives on various trans issues.
We are organizing a series of 1-3 minute video essays featuring the words and voices of transgender people and trans allies all around the world.
We would like to invite members of the trans community and allies with close relationships to trans people to participate and share their experience on our platform.
Examples of personal experience video essay topics:
- Choosing a name: How did you go about this process, have you done it more than once, why did your chosen name speak to you
- Raising a Trans child: resources you wish you had earlier, how you best support your child
- Misgendering: how do you correct strangers, how do you correct friends, etc
- Receiving Gender Affirming Care: aspects you didn’t expect, things you wish you had known before receiving GAC, things you wish more people knew about GAC
It is a privilege to be able to live openly. For those of us with this privilege, it’s important that we use our power to create more space for people to join us in authenticity.
